Italian Australians comprise the sixth-largest ethnic group in Australia. The 2016 census founds 4.6% of the Australian population claiming ancestry from Italy whether they migrated directly or their descendants were born in Australia from Italian heritage.
In late 2019 I moved to Sydney, I decided to leave everything behind me and dive deep into a new experience. As I did, many had already done back in the days. The reasons were different, but they led to the same outcome, living your life 16.000 km far away from home.
Some of them have never returned to Italy. Despite the distance, the Italian traditions have been kept, helping to create a community that has lasted over the years.
